I Call You, “Pure”
Sweet love,
I’m stepping in a little more urgently today. I see you beating yourself up; condemning yourself. You can’t believe what you just did. What you keep on doing.
Beautiful one, come to me. Do you see these arms wide open? They will ALWAYS be open to you. They never close for anything—not on your worst day. In fact, at your lowest, I open them a little wider, and I sing over you a little louder just so you don’t miss my affection for you. My child, I don’t love you because of what you do or do not do. I love you because you are mine. Your value is eternally fixed because I’ve declared your worth from the very beginning.
I see the relentlessness of your adversary. The evil one comes to steal your joy and to lie to you about your identity. Your adversary is the first one to tempt you, to justify your sin, and yet the first one to condemn you. How cruel. My love, you are not your sin or your failure. I am your Father, and I have the final word.
Child, do you know that I do not condemn you? The legal system which once could condemn a person has now been abolished in Jesus. Condemnation for those who are in Christ doesn’t exist. Nor will it ever again. Satan, the accuser of your soul is powerless. So any condemnation you feel is from the pit of hell. I do not condemn, I only convict. Conviction is life-giving. Conviction reminds you that are my child and have the freedom to live with AUTHORITY and POWER over sin. Sometimes my kids forget, and so I need to remind them.
My love, please have grace for yourself. You will never survive outside of my incubator of grace. I have infinite grace for you. So learn of me. I know how difficult life is. It is not for the faint hearted. But darling, my children are not weak. They are powerful and resilient. They are more than conquerors.
So come to me, let me love you. Let me speak over you your true identity. You are not a slave to your sin. You have power over it. Little by little, as you receive my kindness, you will start to break free of habits you never thought you could break free from. It will take time, and it will take community, but let my body (the people who know my heart), carry this burden with you. Refuse isolation. I did not design my children for isolation and so that is why the enemy’s first strategy is to isolate you. Stay close to our family. Let people in. Together, we will celebrate a sure victory. I am on your side, and your Father never loses.
Love, reject the notion that I am angry. My stubborn Papa heart breaks for you when I see you are in pain. The only thing I get angry at is the THING that has you in chains; not at you. I am jealous for your freedom. So jealous, in fact, that I stopped at nothing to rescue you. Let me in just a little closer. Let me do all the heavy lifting. Your only job, brave one, is to receive my love. Just receive it. Don’t try to earn it, or work for it, or prove you are worthy of it. You already are worthy.
Today I call you pure. I know you don’t feel pure, but take my hand and trust me. I get to decide what is true. I am Truth, Himself.
I love you more than you will ever know.
Love, Papa.
